Blake Round received the 2022 Jill Borst Memorial Trophy for being an outstanding ambassador for the sport.

Blake has been an active and positive contributor to the flying scene in the Southern region and across the country for several years now, as:
Club Safety Officer
Instructor
Tandem pilot
NZHGPA Exec member
Training Manager
Tow endorsement officer
Speed Flying coach
Speed riding coach
In all of those capacities he has been able to pull the community together. Even and especially where there have been fractious relationships and sometimes lack of trust, he always seems to find a way to build trust and gain respect due to his credibility as a pilot and also his way of dealing with people.
Prime examples are his work getting the speed flying endorsement in place, and encouraging tow operations.
The thing about Blake is that his contribution is not a one-off. It's ongoing, consistent and covers multiple disciplines.
The main thing that always comes through is his passion for the flying community and constantly improving the skills and safety of pilots.
